The most important category to level up right away is stamina. For the most part early to mid game, attack full, all head, is the way to go, especially with high power boxers. head depending on your stats vs your opponents. Likewise, if you have high stamina, lower health, you'll block head. For example, if you have a guy that has very high health, but mid-low stamina, you'll want to block (maybe 3/4 attack, 1/4 block) and choose body for block. There will be some reason you'll want to do other things in later fights. When you do fight, for the most part, you'll always be maxing out head/attack early on. I've also seen opponents with low health and high everything else go down in one knockdown, as well as low stats in everything get up three or four times. I say this because early on in the game, when I didn't know what I was doing, I noticed some of my boxers would get knocked down and be out, and some would get up three or four times. There doesn't seem any rhyme or reason why some boxers get knocked down and get up. One of those stats I think might be "Heart" which makes them get up more often. I THINK that the condition improves training/morale/hidden stats as well, but can't verify this.

The counter puncher is difficult to win with early, and you want to train him for quite a while before he can fight. I think this type of boxer might be better late game than early (if it's good at all).
